Once downloaded and installed, the Corsair link software gives you information on installed components, and pretty much enables you to take control of every element of the cooler, from fan speed, via set profiles, to any of a myriad of colours for the cold plate lighting via the colour and shade fader.

The tubing flexes well and cuts a nice even curve as it moves between the cold head and the rad. Fitting was easy enough, although it was quite a fiddle to hold the assembly in place while passing the fan screws through from behind. Experience though has shown us over the years that there is no real difference in performance for these two positions. The H80i v2 had to be fitted to the rear of our case as it was to large to fit in the roof. The radiator measures 154x123x49mm, and has a total of 12 water channels with a fin density of 21 fins per inch, making it quite dense. We will of course be removing it for testing and using our Noctua TIM as always. the Cold head contact face is copper and comes supplied with TIM applied. The Pump assembly also has a pewter plaque, and can be illuminated with RGB LEDs via the Corsair link software. The wide diameter pipes are beautifully braided in gloss black braid, ansd we have to say look stunning. The rad is finished in satin black and has nice silver/pewter coloured Corsair logo plaques attached to each side. This pretty much means that it's unlikely to fit in the roof of a case unless there's a significant offset, but should fit in the rear of most cases. The Rad itself is quite a chunky monkey at 49mm thick, which when combined with a pair of 120mm fans will give the assembly an overall thickness of 99mm. It goes without saying that all other fittings required are included. The H80i v2 comes with the fitting for Intel processors already attached, but Corsair do supply an AMD fitting.

the two white boxes you can see are adding further protection to the pair of 120mm fans. The Cooler and the other components are protected by plastic bags and the now familiar formed egg box card. It comes neatly packaged in a striking yellow and black box, the exterior of which has images of the cooler as well as pertinent technical data on the product. The H80i v2 is a 120mm fan based AIO from Corsair. The radiator is very chunky and 2 fans make that doubly so.Technical Specification Radiator Dimensions

These are great coolers however make sure you have enough room to mount these as the 2 fans & radiator block must put the thickness at nearly 3.5 inches clearance needed (not measured actually). The temps are really low- 2 130 Watt CPU's running at a little over 30 degrees at full pelt. This gave me sufficient room to mount the fan & radiator but it also meant cutting into the case fittings with hand tools. The solution was to mount one of the coolers on the back of the case by removing a fan and then cutting between the 3 fan mounts on the top of the case. The radiator was either colliding with the ATX cables or the holes would not line up. No matter where I positioned the cooler assembly I could not get it to fit in one of the 120 mm radiator slots on top of the case. However I also have a large motherboard which is the ASUS Work station board which is extended ATX. I have a very large case, an old COSMOS 2. I don't know if the supplied ready applied TIM is any good but why take the risk as I know MX-4 is really good. I scrapped off the supplied TIM & used MX-4 on the CPU. LGA2011 fitting is very easy as it just needs 4 stand offs on the LGA 2011 mounting frame- so no fiddling with the rear of the board fitting any new frames.

Excellent high quality product with some caveats I purchased 2 of these coolers as part of an upgrade to fit two Intel E5 2967 CPU's.
